"My intention is not to copy nature but to express it in a unique vision.
Sometimes I am after the energy and movement and other times the
peacefulness and enveloping solitude it offers.
Nature has the longest history of all. I try to express this history by
overlaying many layers of color to build up a rich surface. I can than
choose to manipulate this surface by scraping into it with various
techniques revealing its history. That scraping also represents natures
vulnerability to destruction both from natural and human causes."
